Suggested change to how punishments work

So, this is entirely up for discussion, and can be dismissed immediately or taken into more consideration.

Basically, this change would see less incentive for anyone to xray/hack to begin with, while allowing them to be apart of and contribute to the servers community in a positive way; whilst also allowing them to be rehabilitated into what could have potentially been a persistent community member.

Instead of outright banning players for xraying (I'm not actually sure on your policy with these punishments, so please give me grace in that regard), you could implement a restrictive rank. This would be visible to all players, in all servers, and could be removed through a similar process to how ban appeals are made currently.

If a player is caught xraying, they would have a rank that restricts their ability to teleport, suspends their /homes, and basically turns their experience on the server into a Vanilla one.

If a player is talking harshly in chat (not directly abusive, just spammy/intense language), a soft mute. If they're being directly offensive to someone, a full mute and remove /tpa group commands while retaining access to other commands.

Basically, the punishment would fit the crime while permitting an unfettered growth, while naming and shaming anyone who does break the rules and still allowing for a positive community engagement.

This would obviously be executed on a case-by-case basis and the final decision be made by Admins as to whether the punishment is appropriate, or if more intense action is required.

Again, all of this is just a suggestion without actually knowing any of the intimate details of how your punishment system works as I've never been directly involved in it (outside of a verbal warning).

Hey there Reub, thanks for pitching the suggestion
We do have an internal system for escalating punishments that is taught and kept too by all staff, which closely resembles what you've suggested above.
When it comes to shaming players or outright banning them though, this is something that AusCraft has moved away from for quite some time under new direction and staff changes in our Admin team, which overall has smoothed right on out and allowed those who 'tread the line' of our rules to stay on our server after a 1 on 1 chat about their behaviour and why we condone what ever it is on AusCraft.
