As some of you are aware, the last few months for us have been a little rocky. Back in January when we were hit with massive DRDoS attacks, we had to switch things up so that we proxied all traffic through a VPS as to protect our main box from being hit. Luckily for us, BungeeCord (which we were already using!) allowed us to do this easily.
Our VPS host for BungeeCord wasn't the best, but for a time it worked reasonably well.
In the last few weeks, we've been suffering from DRDoS attacks that took out our VPS host AND the backup VPS host we lined up as a replacement. This forced us back to using our VPS in the USA which had decent DDoS protection, which allowed us to continue operating, albeit with high pings due to traffic going You -> USA -> NZ -> USA -> You.
No more.
Thanks to the guys at Ransom IT, we now have a DDoS-protected VPS hosted in Australia, which means low pings and no more pesky downtime due to spiteful kids who couldn't follow the rules vowing revenge against us!
If your DNS provider is up to scratch, play.aus-craft.net should now be up and going for you! If not, we've got a backup address at au.aus-craft.net which we'll leave active for a week while your DNS provider catches up.
